Finding Words

Now that photos are well underway, I've been thinking a lot about the words to express how I feel about this upcoming exhibition. Why did I want to participate? What do I want to convey? What artist's statement will I write about goals and intentions? It definitely centers on a lifetime of interactions with the natural world, how the metaphors discovered there connect me to the shared experiences of all living things.

I like this line from the Mary Oliver poem entitled Such Silence ...

"What's magical, sometimes, has deeper roots than reason.
I hope everyone knows that."
